SafeNet Sentinel RMS selected by Romax
SafeNet Sentinel RMS selected by Romax Technology to replace FlexLM system for software licence management
SafeNet setting the standard for information security, has announced that Romax Technology, leading provider of software and consulting to the global transmission industry, has selected Sentinel RMS to replace its existing licence management system: FlexLM from Macrovision. The Nottingham-based company develops tools for the manufacture of transmissions and drivelines and boasts a client list including Caterpillar, Ford, Harley Davidson, John Deere, Rolls-Royce, Saab and Tata. The implementation of Sentinel RMS will enable Romax to ensure effective rights control of its high-value engineering design software.
The deal, which sees Romax replace its Macrovision FlexLM system with SafeNet's technology, is set to streamline development at Romax, according to Andy Poon, Operations Manager, Romax Technology.
Sentinel RMS will enable Romax to gain better control and understanding over its products in order to generate new revenue opportunities and achieve fair compensation.
'Typically, Romax's customers benefit from an overall process time that is five to ten times faster and we believe that using Sentinel RMS will enable us to cut our product development lead times by a similar amount.' Romax chose licensing support and fulfilment from SafeNet for its RomaxDesigner, RomaxDynamics and RomaxNVH products, and the protection will be incorporated into the next major software releases due in September.
With Sentinel RMS, Romax will be able to quickly and easily implement a wide range of licence models.
Romax has estimated that due to Sentinel RMS, some implementation tasks that previously took two months would now be completed possibly within two weeks.
In addition to providing software licensing, Sentinel RMS will also provide a back-end system that will be used for the complete automation of licence fulfilment.
'After a thorough examination of the various products available in the software security field, we came to the conclusion that SafeNet provided the best functionality and support for our application,' said Andy Poon.
'The programming API was much clearer than those of the competition and the features matched our requirements exactly'.
'The high quality of support we received during the evaluation phase was also a major contributing factor in our choice - a level of service which illustrated that, should any support issues arise the future, they will be promptly addressed.' 'This deal is another example of how Sentinel RMS is setting the standard for supporting and securing software licence management across the market and we are committed to keeping it this way,' commented Gary Clark, VP EMEA at SafeNet.
'Romax's prestigious client list means our technology will be relied on by some of the most progressive and innovative organisations in the world, as it ensures critical modelling and analysis software is licensed accurately and works when and where it is needed.'
