Off-the-shelf platforms squeeze it all into 1U
New from I-Bus/Phoenix, the 1U eFuzion range of application-ready computer platforms is designed for enterprise-class customer-premise applications. This competitively priced off-the-shelf range, delivered with all hardware and software installed and tested, is a new addition to the company's product line. The eFuzion platforms are ideal for space-conscious front-end applications such as web servers, media streaming or utilities hosting and will be unveiled for the first time at the ISPCON show in London.
The application ready 1U eFuzion line consists of low-end, mid-range and high-end fully configured systems, in a space saving rackmount or desktop enclosure.
All support ATX, Micro ATX or SBC/backplane processor architectures and are available with Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 and Red Hat Linux 7.2.
The eFuzion-1U/AMP is a mid-range, entry level server platform designed to meet the needs of OEMs, VARs and system integrators for front-end appliance applications in enterprise class, customer premise or data management environments.
Features include an Intel Server 815e chipset motherboard for economical Uni-processor support, socket 370 CPU support, 230W ATX PSU, integrated 10/100baseT Ethernet, Intel 3D graphics and active system monitoring.
The Pentium-III eFuzion-1U/AEP is a flexible and scalable solution for enterprise class, customer premise environments.
Benefits include two full-height, full-length 32bit/33MHz PCI expansion slots for dedicated application support in a 1U rack.
It can also act as a node in a larger cluster system.
Other features include dual 10/100baseT Ethernet, graphics controller, Compact Flash or optional PMC interface, and free up expansion slots.
The eFuzion-1U/AHP offers true high-performance in a flexible application server platform.
Based on a powerful and scalable Intel sever motherboard, it offers a choice of one or two Pentium-III processors, running at speeds up to 1.26GHz and with SDRAM expansion to 6Gbyte on board.
It supports 64bit/66MHz expansion, and powerful on board SCSI, Ethernet and video that can be enhanced further still if required.
OEMs, VARs and systems integrators can choose from prequalified configuration options such as RAID 1 support with fixed or hot-swap SCA SCSI hard disks, SNMP system monitoring upgrade, 10/100/1000baseT Ethernet controllers and Combo FD and CD-ROM, and CD-RW or SCSI DAT drives.
"The forces of convergence are adding greater pressures on broadcasters, MSOs, cable operators, ISPs and telcos to roll-out services on existing infrastructures, quickly and cost-effectively", says Johni Chan, IBP's VP of Engineering.
"We feel eFuzion addresses those demands with a range of stable platforms that are simple to order, cost effective and available quickly".
The range is available from I-Bus/Phoenix facilities worldwide from 10 days on purchases of up to 25 units.
