Video controller drives LCDs and plasma displays

A new PC and video interface controller, specifically designed to support both TFT colour LCD panels and plasma display panels (PDPs), has been added to the line-up of display controller products available from Digital View. Providing direct analogue input for a wide range of TFT and plasma displays (including Fujitsu and NEC), the product is a compact, single-board solution ideal for OEM monitor and packaged LCD solutions. A fully buffered, multisync interface controller, the Digital View SV-1600 is capable of driving PDPs of both 16:9 (up to 1365 x 768 resolution) and 4:3 (up to 1600 x 1200 resolution) aspect ratios, and TFT LCD panels up to UXGA, with full screen image expansion.
The product also offers auto detect graphics modes of VGA - UXGA (interlaced and noninterlaced) and features up to 8bit per colour (ie 16.7 million colours).
Capable of accepting computer input signals of up to 60Hz at UXGA and 75Hz at lower resolutions - with auto detect of digital separate sync, sync-on-green and composite sync - the SV-1600 accepts video input for NTSC and Pal/Secam with formats of composite video, S-video, component video (YCrCb) and RGB video (w composite sync).
An optional addon board provides stereo amplification and volume control.
Featuring a powerful image scaling function which allows the user to scale up/down a lower/higher resolution image to fit a different resolution panel e.g SVGA up to UXGA or UXGA down to XGA, the SV-1600 also allows control of brightness, colour temperature, image position, video rotation and sharpness, while other features include picture-in-picture, system information display, OSD position, user-definable hotkey and audio controls.
With standard physical dimensions of 179 x 120.4mm (7 x 4.74in), the controller is VESA DPMS compatible, and an optional addon board for TTL - LVDS and TMDS connectivity is also available.
